Terms OptiVida uses, and the few it borrows from the profession and uses in a particular way.

The products

OptiVida

The company, and the parent brand. Four products share one mark; only the word beside it changes.

OptiCertificate

Financial certificates. Singular, not "OptiCertificates".

OptiReports

Bank and audit reports — CMA reports and Form 3CD tax audit reports.

OptiFinancials

Financial statements. In the menu this appears as Financial Statements (NCE).

Your account

CA profile

The identity that stamps a document: name, firm, FRN, membership number, designation and place. You may keep several.

Client

A business or individual you work for, recorded once and reused by every document you produce for them.

Credit

The unit OptiVida charges in. Spent when a document is produced, never before.

FRN

Firm Registration Number, allotted by the ICAI. Part of a CA profile.

UDIN

Unique Document Identification Number, generated per document on the ICAI portal. You enter it at issue; OptiVida prints it and does not validate it.

Tally and the Connector

the Connector

The small Windows program that lets OptiVida read Tally on your computer. Capitalised when it means the OptiVida app.

Pairing

Linking a Connector to your OptiVida account. Done once per computer.

Fetch

Reading a year's data from Tally. Always started by you, and always read-only — OptiVida never writes to Tally.

Ledger

An account in Tally. Classifying ledgers is most of the work in statements and CMA reports.

Reports and statements

CMA

Credit Monitoring Arrangement — the pack of statements a bank asks for when assessing working capital limits.

Bank template

The layout a CMA report is produced in. Generic CMA and Bank of Baroda are available.

Estimated year

The year the CMA report is being prepared for.

Historical year

A past year, from audited or provisional figures.

Projected year

A future year, which you supply.

Unmapped ledger

A Tally ledger OptiVida could not place in a CMA line with confidence. It is listed for you to assign rather than guessed at or dropped.

Cell source

Where a figure in a grid came from: Tally, Rule, AI, ITR, User or Derived. A blank cell is one for you to fill.

Form 3CD

The statement of particulars annexed to a tax audit report. Form 3CB is the auditor's report it accompanies.

Clause

A numbered item of Form 3CD. OptiVida fills what it can derive and flags the rest.

Finding

Something in a tax audit report worth your attention before signing. A to-do list, not a conclusion.

NCE

Non-Corporate Entity. The ICAI's format for statements of entities that are not companies.

V1.2

The version of Tally's NCE template OptiFinancials produces.

Classification

Placing a ledger in the statement hierarchy, so its balance lands on the right line.

Bifurcation

Splitting a balance between its non-current and current halves. Only you can say where the line falls.

Comparatives

The previous year's figures, shown beside this year's.

Tie out

Agreement between two figures that must match — a note and the face of the Balance Sheet, for instance. The Checks sheet reports these.
