The Connector is out of date
A fetch is refused because this build does not support what the report needs.

Why a fetch can be refused for age
Newer reports sometimes ask Tally for data an older Connector does not know how to request. Rather than returning partial figures, OptiVida refuses and says why.
This is the right behaviour
A tax audit built on a partial fetch would look complete and be wrong. A refusal you can act on is better than figures you cannot rely on.
Tax audit reports hit this most often, being the newest of the report types.
Updating
Open the Connector
From the notification area.
Go to About
It shows the installed version alongside the latest available.
Check now
Rather than waiting for the daily check.
Install the update
It takes a moment.
Fetch again
Your pairing survives an update. You will not have to pair again.
It checks daily by itself
The Connector checks once a day and tells you when something is waiting, so this should be rare. Checking manually is for when you have just hit a refusal and do not want to wait.
If the update will not install
- Close the Connector fully and retry
Right-click its tray icon and quit, rather than closing the window.
- Download a fresh installer
From SettingsTally connector. Running it over the existing installation is safe.
- Windows blocked it
Some installations need an administrator. Your IT support will know.
What to do meanwhile
Your report is untouched. For a CMA report you can keep entering figures by hand; for a tax audit, the manual data-source path avoids the fetch entirely.
