Suggestions are unavailable
What happens when automatic classification cannot run, and how to carry on without it.
Automatic classification could not run, or you have reached the daily limit on questions.
What happens when it cannot run
Nothing is guessed. Ledgers arrive unclassified and wait for you, exactly as a declined ledger would.
The failure mode is safe by design
A whole batch can come back unclassified. That is inconvenient, and it is far better than the alternative — the system does not fall back to guessing when it cannot ask properly.
Carrying on without it
Classification is something you can do by hand. Suggestions save time; they are not required.
- Financial statementsTB CY
Set C3 · Grouping and C4 · Sub-head on each ledger. The picker offers the same closed list the AI would have chosen from.
- CMA reportThe unmapped panel
Assign each ledger to a CMA line from the dropdown.
- Tax auditThe wizard
Complete the clauses directly.
You are never blocked — only slowed.
Try again later
Choose Suggest classifications again after a while. It only fills what is still empty, so it will not disturb decisions you made in the meantime.
The daily question limit
Asking about a cell has a daily cap. Reaching it does not affect classification or anything else — only the ability to ask further questions until it resets.
- Inspect the cell instead
Right-click, or long-press, to see which ledgers feed it and what each contributes. That answers most questions without needing to ask.
Year two is less affected
Classifications you approved last year are reapplied without any AI involvement at all. In a second-year engagement most ledgers arrive already settled, so an outage costs you very little.
Tip
What never depends on it
Every figure in the product. Totals, subtotals, the faces of the statements, the notes, the ratios — all arithmetic over what you confirmed. An outage cannot change a number.
