Install, pair, fetch a year and download a set of financial statements. The shortest path to seeing OptiVida work from your own books.

Why statements, and not a CMA report

Statements are the shortest Tally-backed path: fetch a year, review the classifications, download. A CMA report additionally wants projections from you, and a tax audit wants clause-by-clause judgement.

Everything you learn here applies to both.

Install and pair

  1. Download the Connector

SettingsTally connector and choose Download connector (Windows).

  2. Run the installer

It settles into the notification area by the clock.

  3. Turn on connectivity in Tally

F1SettingsConnectivity — acting as Both, Enable ODBC set to Yes, port 9000. This is the step people miss.

  4. Pair the device

From the Connector. Your browser opens; check the fingerprint matches, and confirm.

The Connector's icon should now be green.

Open a workspace and fetch

  1. Open your client, then the Statements tab

    Clientspick oneStatements
  2. Choose New statements, then the type

Pick the format that suits the client: Financial Statements (NCE) for a proprietorship or partnership. The workspace opens. There is no form to fill in first.

  3. Fetch the year

Pick the financial year, and include the previous year for comparatives. Tally must be open with the right company loaded.

The years offered are the ones this company's books actually hold — read from Tally, not a fixed list. If you see a generic run of recent years instead, the Connector is not reachable yet; the line under the picker tells you which list you are looking at.

Fill in Basic Info

The entity's name, PAN and address, then two choices made once: Property, Plant and Equipment block (Net Block or Gross Block) and Round off amounts to the nearest.

Warning

Make the Net Block or Gross Block choice now. Each has its own sub-heads for classifying fixed assets, so switching after you have classified them means going back through those ledgers.

Review the classifications

  1. Open TB CY

    One row per ledger.

  2. Choose Suggest classifications

OptiVida classifies what it confidently can, and declines the rest.

  3. Filter to Needs a decision

Work it to empty. Two kinds of row land here and they are answered differently.

    Most are unclassified — set C3 · Grouping and C4 · Sub-head yourself.

Some already carry a classification and read Pending review in amber. A rule proved which side of the balance sheet the ledger belongs on but not which sub-head — a customer sitting in credit is money held against them, not a receivable. The reason is printed under the badge. Agree, and choose Mark as reviewed; disagree, and set your own classification.

  4. Then filter to AI suggested

Confirm or correct each. Only what you approve or correct carries into next year.

Enter the non-current splits

For borrowings, investments, loans and advances, provisions and the "other" groupings, enter the non-current amount in Bifurcate Balance.

Note

Leave these blank and the whole balance is treated as current — and several notes cannot appear at all. It is the thing that most often surprises people.

Clear the Checks sheet, then generate

Checks lists what does not tie and what data is outstanding. Work down it, then generate.

Generating these statements costs credits. You are shown the exact cost in the confirmation before it runs, and the current price list is on Settings → Credits and billing.

You get an Excel workbook and a PDF. Downloading the same unchanged statements again is free.
