Unsaved changes and autosave
How saving works in the data grids, and what the reconnecting banner means.
How saving works in the grids, and what the reconnecting banner means.
There is no save button
The CMA workspace and the statements workspace save shortly after you stop typing. Nothing to remember and nothing to forget.
The reconnecting banner
If the connection drops, OptiVida says so and keeps your changes queued rather than discarding them. It shows how many are waiting.
When the connection returns, the queue is sent and the banner clears.
Warning
While the banner is showing, your recent changes exist only in this browser tab. Closing it — or reloading — loses whatever has not been sent. Wait for the banner to clear before you close the report.
If the banner will not clear
Check your internet connection
This is about reaching OptiVida, not about reaching Tally.
Leave the tab open
It keeps retrying. Closing it is what loses the queue.
Note anything critical elsewhere
If you have entered something you could not reconstruct, write it down before doing anything else.
Once it clears, confirm your figures are there
Reload the page and check the last few cells you edited.
Are my changes actually saved?
Reload the page. Whatever comes back is what is stored.
Blunt, and conclusive. Worth doing after any connection trouble, before you generate.
Fetching does not lose your work
Re-fetching from Tally does not discard your classifications or entries — they are held against the ledger and the form, not against a particular fetch.
So re-fetching after posting adjusting entries is safe.
Drafts persist indefinitely
A report left half-finished stays as it is, at no cost, until you come back. The client's tab for that kind of work lists it, and the dashboard's Pick up where you left off takes you back to the CMA or tax audit report you were last in.
There is no timeout and no expiry.
