The Generate button is disabled
Validation errors block a report; warnings do not. Telling the two apart.
The Generate button is disabled, or generating is refused. Something in the report is blocking it.
Errors block, warnings do not
- ErrorsBlock generation
Something that would make the report incorrect.
- WarningsDo not block
Something worth your eye. Not a fault to clear.
The validation panel lists both. Only the errors are standing between you and a report.
A warning is a prompt, not a fault
Some are expected — an unusual ratio in a genuinely unusual year, for instance. Read them, satisfy yourself, and generate. You are not meant to drive the warning count to zero.
The usual causes, by report
- CMA reportUnmapped ledgers, missing figures
Start with the unmapped panel. A balance sitting there is outside your totals.
- Tax auditUnreviewed clauses
The Reviewed counter, not Clauses filled.
- CertificatesRequired fields
The issuing firm and the UDIN on the last step.
Financial statements behave differently
Statements generate even when the Checks sheet has not cleared — with DRAFT on the face of the report.
Warning
That contrast matters. A CMA report will not generate with errors; a set of statements will, and says DRAFT instead. Do not issue a draft assuming the word will go unnoticed — clear the Checks sheet first.
The reason: showing a client what is still missing usually requires handing them the statements.
Working through it
Open the validation panel
Errors first; ignore the warnings for now.
Click through to each error
It takes you to the cell or clause at fault.
Fix, and watch the list shrink
Validation re-runs as you work.
Then read the warnings
Satisfy yourself about each, without needing to clear it.
If a CMA generation is refused
The button was enabled, you confirmed, and the run came back with a message instead of a report. The message names the cause; nothing is kept from a refused run and nothing is charged for it.
- Insufficient creditsTop up
Your balance is below the cost of a version. The report is as you left it.
- Validation failedClear the errors
The server found an error the panel had not shown yet. Reload the workspace and clear it.
- The figures could not be calculatedCheck the workspace
A cell the bank's formulas depend on is missing or holds something that is not a number. Find it, correct it and generate again.
- Template not supported, or not availableContact support
The bank template's layout or configuration is not on the server. Your figures are safe; the template needs setting up.
- Generation failedTry once more
The render or the upload did not complete. If it happens again, contact support with the report and the time.
If the balance is the problem
Being out of credits is a refusal at the moment of generating rather than a disabled button.
