Generating the report

What must be true before Generate is enabled, and the Excel and PDF you get.

Producing the Excel workbook and the bank-ready PDF.

Before Generate is enabled

Validation errors block generation. Warnings do not.

ErrorsMust be cleared

Something that would make the report incorrect.

WarningsYour judgement

Worth a look. They do not mean the report is wrong.

Unmapped ledgersClear these

Not an error, but a balance sitting outside your totals.

The confirmation

You are shown what generating will cost before it runs. Nothing is deducted until you confirm.

Generating this report costs credits. You are shown the exact cost in the confirmation before it runs, and the current price list is on Settings → Credits and billing.

Every version is charged

Warning

Unlike a certificate — charged once, ever — a CMA report is charged per generated version. Correcting a figure and generating again costs again. Get the workspace right first.

The practical habit: use the workspace as the review surface, not the generated file. Everything you need to check is on screen, and checking it there is free.

What you get

An Excel workbook

In the bank template's layout.

A PDF

Bank-ready, kept with the version it belongs to.

Both are built from the workspace at the moment you generate, in one pass, so they cannot disagree with what you reviewed or with each other. Both carry the date you generated them as the Date of Report.

Files save under the client's name, the year and the version: Sharma_Traders_CMA_FY2025-26_v2.xlsx and the matching .pdf.

Versions

Each generation is kept, with the time it was produced. Earlier versions stay downloadable, Excel and PDF alike: useful when a bank refers to the copy you sent last month. Opening a version's PDF never costs anything; only generating does.

A version can be deleted if it was produced in error.

Note

Versions generated before September 2026 kept only their Excel. If the report has not been saved since such a version was generated, its PDF is prepared the first time you open it and kept from then on. If the report has changed since, no PDF can be made that matches that Excel, and the PDF tile says so. Generate again for a matching pair.

Going back to edit

Return to the workspace at any time. Your figures are as you left them, and generating again produces a new version alongside the old.

The report's status stays Generated once it has been generated once.

A pre-generation checklist

  1. The unmapped panel is empty

  2. Every AI cell has been reviewed

  3. Form I and the annexures are filled where they apply

  4. Projections are entered, not left as placeholders

  5. Ratios look defensible

  6. Validation shows no errors
