Recording assets
Bank accounts, deposits, PF, NPS, insurance, mutual funds, shares, property, vehicles and jewellery.
Three wizard steps collect assets, grouped by what they are. Every section works the same way: add a row per holding, or leave it empty.
How the sections behave
Each is a list you add rows to. An empty section prints nothing, so there is no need to visit one that does not apply — a client with no post office schemes simply has none.
Every section also has a Notes / Remarks box, carried onto the certificate.
Note
Enter every amount as at the Certificate Date from step 1. Mixing dates is the commonest way a net worth figure stops meaning anything.
Step 2 — Financial Assets
- Bank Accounts
Account Type, Bank Name, Statement Date, Account Number, Account Holder, Balance (INR).
- Fixed Deposits & Recurring Deposits
Type, Holder Name, Bank Name, Account/Cert Number, Amount (INR).
- Provident Fund (PF)
Type, Holder Name, Account Number, Amount (INR).
- National Pension System (NPS)
Owner Name, PRAN Number, Current Value (INR).
- Life Insurance Policies
Holder Name, Insurer Name, Policy Type, Policy Number, Surrender Value (INR).
- Post Office Schemes
Scheme Type, Holder Name, Account/Cert Number, Amount (INR).
Warning
Insurance is taken at Surrender Value, not at sum assured. The sum assured is what a policy pays on a future event; it is not something the holder owns today, and putting it in a net worth statement overstates the total badly.
Step 3 — Market Assets
- Mutual Funds
Fund Type, Holder Name, Fund Name, Folio Number, Current Value (INR).
- Shares / Stocks
Holder Name, Company Name / ISIN, Quantity, Total Market Value (INR).
Both are valued at market, as at the certificate date.
Step 4 — Physical & Other
- Immovable Properties
Property Type — Residential House, Commercial Property, Land, Plot or Agricultural Land — with Owner Name, Address / Location, Survey / Document No., Valuer Name and Market Valuation (INR).
- Vehicles
Vehicle Type — Car / SUV, Two Wheeler, Commercial Vehicle or Other — with Owner Name, Make / Model, Registration No. and Market Value (INR).
- Jewellery
Type, Owner Name, Net Weight (grams), Estimated Value (INR).
- Partnership Firms
Firm Name, Partner Name, Share %, Date of Valuation, Capital Balance (INR).
Valuer Name matters
Where a property has been valued by a registered valuer, naming them is what lets a reader weigh the figure. It is the difference between a valuation and an assertion.
Jewellery, not gold
The section is titled Jewellery and takes a net weight in grams alongside an estimated value. Net weight means the metal, excluding stones — which is what a valuer's certificate will state.
What the schedules print
Each section becomes a sub-annexure listing its rows. A type you chose from a list prints as you saw it in the list: "Car / SUV", "Gold Jewellery", "NSC (National Savings Cert)". Vehicles print the make and model beside the registration number, insurance policies name the insurer, partnership firms name the partner, and a property's survey or document number prints under its address, before the valuer.
Note
Amounts entered in the wizard are what the schedules total. A detail left blank simply prints as an empty cell.
