Starting a tax audit report

Choosing a data source and a financial year, and linking the client to the open Tally company.

Two choices, then the wizard opens.

Getting there

Clientspick oneTax AuditNew tax audit

1. Financial year

The previous year the audit covers, shown with its dates. For a manual report choose it here; when importing from Tally it is set by the year you pick in the next card, from the years Tally holds.

Note

This is the financial year, not the assessment year. FY 2025-26 is audited and reported in AY 2026-27, and the form asks for the previous year.

2. Data source

From Tally

OptiVida asks Tally which years it holds, and reads the one you pick. Clauses that can be derived from the books are filled, and the AI clauses compute while you work.

Enter it manually

A blank report for the year chosen above. Every clause is yours to complete; there is no Tally import for the AI clauses to read.

Fetching is the usual route. Manual entry suits an assessee whose books are not in Tally.

The company must match

Tally has to be open on this machine with the client's company loaded. If the open company is not the one the client record points to, OptiVida says so rather than reading the wrong entity's books.

Warning

A company mismatch is caught and reported, not silently accepted. If you see it, check which company Tally has open before doing anything else — an audit report built on another entity's books is the worst kind of error to find late.

If the Connector is out of date

A tax audit asks Tally for data an older Connector build may not know how to read. Where that happens the fetch is refused with an explanation, rather than returning partial figures.

Update the Connector and fetch again.

After the fetch

The wizard opens at Part A — Basic Information. Clauses OptiVida could derive are filled; the rest are waiting.

Nothing is charged. The report is a draft until you generate.

Working through it

You do not have to complete the steps in order, and you do not have to finish in one sitting. It saves as you go, and the dashboard's Pick up where you left off takes you back to the report you were last in.
