What a CA profile is
The identity that stamps a document: your name, firm, FRN, membership number and designation.
A CA profile is the identity OptiVida stamps on what you issue. It is the difference between a draft and a document somebody can rely on.
What it holds
- CA namerequired
The name that signs. For example, CA Amit Patel.
- Firm namerequired
The firm the certificate is issued under.
- FRNrequired
The firm registration number allotted by the ICAI.
- Designationrequired
Your capacity in the firm — Partner, Proprietor, and so on.
- Membership no.required
Your ICAI membership number.
- Placerequired
The place of signing, which prints alongside the date.
Why it is required before anything else
OptiVida asks for a profile the first time you sign in, before showing you the dashboard. A document with no signatory is not a document, and discovering that at the point of issue — with the figures already entered — would be a poor moment to find out.
Note
The profile is about the person and firm issuing, not about the client. Client particulars live on the client record.
Why you might want more than one
Keep a profile per identity you sign under — a second firm, a different designation, a partner who signs a particular class of work. You pick which profile to use at the moment of issue, so one account can serve a practice with several signing identities.
One profile is marked the default, and is pre-selected for you.
Where it appears
- CertificatesReview & Issue
You choose the issuing firm on the last step, alongside the UDIN.
- Financial statementsBasic Info
The signatory block takes the audit firm, FRN, membership number and the signing date.
- Tax audit reportsPart A
Carried into the Form 3CB particulars.
The UDIN is not part of the profile
A UDIN is generated per document on the ICAI portal, so it is entered at the point of issue rather than stored against your profile. OptiVida does not generate it and cannot validate it — it prints what you give it.
Tip
Adding, editing and choosing a profile covers keeping several and setting the default.
